Two big reasons people don't follow Jesus

My flesh is true food, and my blood is true drink – John 6.55

1.  His priority is spiritual, not physical.  That doesn’t mean the physical has no value – it’s just not his priority.  (This explains a lot of things in life.)  And he makes a very big deal out of himself being the center and source of all spiritual, eternal life.  You can get a handle on external rules and expectations; but this idea of feeding on someone as source of life -- “This is is a hard saying; who can listen to it?”

2.  Spiritual, eternal things require spiritual enlightenment.  When you don’t believe, you can’t understand.  It seems like crazy talk.
