Think you’ve got it tough? This guy had a child die from scarlet fever, a fire ruin him financially, then four daughters drowned in a shipwreck. Later, passing over the spot where his daughters died, he wrote these words:
When peace like a river, attendeth my way,
When sorrows like sea billows roll;
Whatever my lot, Thou hast taught me to say,
It is well, it is well with my soul.
