Here's what I'm asking him for:
- To experience a deep, moment-to-moment companionship and trust with Jesus. Paul says Jesus is my life -- I want to know what that means and live like it.
- The ability (or will, or discipline) to be more responsible, to execute things, to carry out and implement ideas, to finish things. Stuff at home, at work, in church, with family. To be more of a do-er and not just a thinker.
I'm asking for these because I'm afraid: Afraid I'm going hurt the kingdom of God. Afraid I won't be good for other people, and that I'm going to hurt others or myself somehow by not being who God intends. I'm afraid failure in those two things will leave me miserable and sick, and bring disgrace on Jesus, his church, my ministry and family, and myself.
If you asked me what two things would make the biggest difference in my life, I'd say that's it. And #1 probably takes care of #2, too.
