Come, see a man who told me all that I ever did. Can this be the Christ? – John 4.29
If a lady who had been married five times and who was now living with another man ran up to you excitedly and said, Hey come and see a guy I just met who I think might be the savior of the world, would you go? Or would you think, like I would, that she’s not really the one to have any discernment on who the savior of the world is?
The people she said that to, went. A whole bunch of them. They believed her and followed her and found out for themselves it was true.
Sure, you want credibility. You do everything you can to get it. Without it, people have an excuse to not listen. But this lady had none, yet for some reason, at least here, that lack did not get in the way of people hearing what she had to say. And apparently it didn’t occur to her that she might not be believed because of who she was.
It’s natural to let lack of credibility stop you. It’s supernatural when it doesn’t.
